TERMS & CONDITIONS
Non-arrival Charges/Early Departures – Bedroom bookings cancelled less than 24 hours before arrival or an early departure or a non-arrival will be charged one nights’ accommodation.
Group Booking Accommodation Policy – All group accommodation, 5 rooms and above, must be confirmed in writing within 7 days of booking and a full list of names and account details received 28 days prior to arrival. Once confirmed, the following cancellation charges will apply:
1. Two months or less – 40% of total cost. However you may cancel 10% of bedrooms without charge.
2. Twenty-eight days or less – 75% of total cost. However you may cancel 10% of bedrooms without charge.
3. Seven days or less – Subject to charges of 100% of total cost.
Postponements – Any postponement of a confirmed booking is deemed and treated as a cancellation.
Price Variation – The Chequers Hotels. reserve the right to increase prices in the event of circumstances beyond its control, e.g. increases in VAT.
Deposits – Accommodation deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. If written confirmation or a credit card number is not received at the time of booking, the booking will be released within 48 hours.
Payment – Where credit facilities have been agreed, final payment of the balance of charges must be paid by the client within 30 days of the date of the invoice. Otherwise all outstanding charges accumulated on the day are due on departure.
Damage – Clients are responsible to The Chequers Hotels. for any damage caused by the client, their guests, agents or employees.
Equipment & Property – Clients own equipment and property brought into a The Chequers Hotel is at their own risk and the hotel accepts no liability for loss or damage. All electrical equipment must be certified and tested.
Force Majeure – If a The Chequers Hotel is hindered or prevented from hosting the event or providing any facility booked by the client due to circumstances beyond its control, e.g. Government intervention, act of God, civil disturbance, war, national or local disaster, strikes, labour disputes, then the liability of The Chequers Hotel. to the client shall not exceed the amount paid by the client to the The Chequers Hotel, in respect of the booking.
Contract – When a booking is confirmed in writing or by a credit card number, a contract is deemed to exist. The contract shall be governed in all respects by English law. It can only be modified by a supplementary written contract.
